"We weren’t sure what to expect, staying at a place we’ve never heard of in our own backyard.
Our first impression was that the Webster House is much more beautiful than the pictures on the web site. Too often the website looks too good to be true…and it is. In this case, our expectations were far exceeded.
We felt like we were transported to another place and time, instead of being just 30 minutes from home. With outstanding service by Deborah and the pure comfort and elegance in our room.
We were warmly welcomed on the way in, shown to our room, and were left in complete privacy. We decided to stay in for dinner having Italian take-out from Nino’s and had our own private dining room at a table by the fireside downstairs. That experience alone was priceless.
We found the room both spacious and cozy. The bed was spectacular, with luxuriously soft sheets and a feather bed. The tub under the skylights was a beautiful experience, sitting in the warm tub, feeling the cool breezes from the dual skylights drift in above us.
The house is situated in a neighborhood next local churches, listening to the bells reminded us both of stays we’ve had in Europe.
The grounds were immaculate, with flowers all around the walkways.
This truly was one of the most memorable stays we’ve ever had and we’ve purposely picked out some of the best B&B’s and Inns in Michigan."

“I have stayed twice at this inn since it opened in December 2009 and both times were superb. No detail has been overlooked in the restoration of this wonderful old mansion and the ambience is one of luxury and comfort and lavishness. I couldn’t wait to get back from my meeting, turn on my fireplace and climb in the amazingly comfortable bed with my book. The fabrics are gorgeous, the beddings terrific. The Innkeeper is a terrific cook and makes all guests feel pampered. You can’t go wrong in choosing this B and B, whether for business or a very romantic getaway.”
“We were so glad to have found this wonderful bed and breakfast. We really enjoyed the history of the Webster House. What a great place to spend our anniversary! This is beautifully restored 125 year old house that we loved staying in.”
“I booked a Valentines weekend get away for two. When we arrived to check in we were impressed by the beauty of the Inn. It truly feels like you step back in time. The woodwork and decor is worth the trip alone. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Christine and her staff took excellent care of us and made the weekend great. Breakfast was delicious. Downtown Bay City is a few blocks away and has several shops and places to eat. If you enjoy antiques you can shop for hours at the downtown stores.”
“This was our first experience in a bed and breakfast. We loved it ! The innkeeper was very accommodating and caring. The room had soft lighting with a fireplace. Couldn’t have been more perfect. The bed was so comfortable. We slept very well. Breakfast and service was wonderful. Can’t wait to go back!”
“Webster House in Bay City is a wonderful B&B. Both the beds and breakfasts are superb. The beds have luxurious sheets and plush comforters and pillows. The gracious innkeeper serves an outstanding breakfast and was quick to recommend places to go and things to do in the area. The restored rooms are straight from a magazine and make you feel like you’re living a fairy tale. We’ve done B&B tours of New England and the Old South, and Webster House certainly is right there with them and even better than some. Bay City is not really a destination city for us, but Webster House could become that after our visit there.”
