The Webster House is decking our halls and trimming our trees as we prepare to welcome guests during the annual Holiday Parlour Tour & Christmas Market on Dec. 5-6 in Bay City’s Center Avenue historic district.

The Webster House, one of nine stops on this year’s tour of historical homes and businesses, will be decorated to reflect a step back to Christmases of yesteryear, said Debbie Ingersoll, owner of the Bay City bed and breakfast.

“We didn’t want to do a modern theme, but something in keeping with the feel of the house,” Ingersoll said. “We will have fresh trees and more, for a traditional and old-world-elegance feel.”

The tour, which runs 4-8 p.m. Dec. 5-6, will begin at the Pere Marquette Depot, 1000 Adams St. Heated shuttle buses will take guests to each of the nine historical homes and businesses, where they can tour first floors and parlors showcasing beautiful holiday decorations.

At The Webster House, guests will take in the holiday lights and sights as the smell of innkeeper Christine Oosdyke’s from-scratch Christmas cookies fills the air. Feel free to take a cookie on your way out.

Tickets to the tour are $15 in advance and $17 on tour days. They are available at Begick Nursery & Garden Center, GT Homestead, Feige’s Interiors of Saginaw, Herman Hiss, Martha's Market, Morgan's Auto Repair, My Secret Garden, Pere Marquette Depot Welcome Center, Petit Four Pastry of Essexville, Saginaw Street Salon, Utermalen Furniture, Violets Blue and Warmbier Farms of Auburn.
